Well, my dad, my sister, and I drove to take my sister to her to college (sort of, she's not technically moving in yet) It's kind of weird to think that she won't be living here anymore.
Then, when we were driving home (my dad and I), we got caught in tons and tons of rain. The only reason I came this time and apposed to next week I think it is when my mom, dad, and little sister are going (to say goodbye to my sister and take up some more stuff for her dorm) was so that I could drive back and get some driving hours (for my liscense). But there were two reasons I couldn't, A. I was too tired and B. The rain.
So the rain is so bad that my dad actually has to pull over for a few minutes because he literally couldn't see. Then we get stopped in this traffic jam. After about 40 minutes or so some guy comes walking down the street and tells us that there's a tree down there, and the other road behind us. So we keep waiting and after waiting for about an hour (I listened to Mika to keep me occupied, very good cd) a civilian (I think) drives down the other side of the road and says that there is a tree down and some power lines and he's leading people out and showing them how then can get around. So we finally turn around and get around the traffic jam.
On the way around we see that another civilian is directing traffic, and later we see that a firetruck must have driven off of the road into a cornfield.
The moral of this story is, sometimes the most qualified people for the job aren't policemen and firefighters.(I kid the public servicemen, although in this particular case it seems to be true).
So we finally get home. I knew it was flooded everywhere, but what I DIDN'T know was that our mayor actually declared a state of emergency,. So we finally get home and I scarf down a cheeseburger (I was so hungry, it was a 5 hour car ride home) .
Yep, so that was it.
